Dave's message made me rush to my record collection to look for his
teacher's name. But no, it wasn't there. I was in the 1965 All-Virginia
High School Band as a senior at Petersburg High School. (The personnel list
on the record jacket says I was 9th chair out of 24 B-flat clarinets.)
Frederick C. Ebbs (University of Iowa) was the Guest Conductor. My small
school also sent a hornist and a tuba player that year. It was a great
experience, and that band could really play.

Mitch, Was Revelli the conductor that year?? Maybe it was another year,
possibly 1966. Do you remember Larry Scripp (the legend)? Did you know
Maury Swartz - he is my uncle, and started me on clarinet.
