I have always been under the impression that "Introduction, theme and
variations" was attributed to Rossini. In Jack Brymer's Book "Clarinet" he
writes, "Brillinat. Probably not by Rossini. Brought to London by the late
Karl Haas some years before this publication (Sikorski). The original
manuscript has at the start 'Andante di Rossini', indicating that he wrote the
tune rather than the variations." Can anyone shed light on this matter?
