Dear CB270@-----.net,

(Sorry, you didn't add a name)

I know how you feel, worrying about what's going to come flying back
at you after you hit the "send" button to the Klarinet list, but maybe I
can encourage you a little with the suggestion I've made to some close
friends (and to myself, for that matter): no matter what you write,
nobody cares as much as you do. That is, at the risk of sounding
flippant, it doesn't matter very much to most other people, and maybe
not at all to those who don't even know you. On the whole, I think the
list contributors are pretty generous and compassionate. The trick is
to not take yourself too seriously - that is, overly seriously.
The really expert people on the list undoubtedly are familiar with
explaining technical issues to those of us who range from "less expert"
to "largely ignorant," and for that I am personally grateful. They
probably even get a little kick out of it, as they should. Learning
isn't always pretty or easy or painless. As with a lot of things, no
pain, no gain. How much pain you want to risk feeling in the learning
process is largely your own decision.

Best regards,

Bill Edinger
