Nobody seems to recognise the large amount of humor, irony and obsurdity
the young Mr. Rossini manages to pack into this piece. He's having fun.
The performer must convey this spirit or the music simply becomes a vulgar
"show-off piece."

I quote the great Canadian cellist, Paul Pulford: "Rossini's a blast!"
