I thank Mike for giving me the information Reynolds. I was invited
by him to give a master class at Univ. of Michigan and wound up
conducting the Gran Partitta. Now I am not conductor. I don't
do it well and I'm very uncomfortable at it. But Reynolds insisted
that I do it, and after an hour in front of the audience I began
to be infected by the lure of it. After the performance was over,
he gave me the baton I had used and I took an oath never to do that
again. I could come to like it and I did not want to do that.

Nice, nice man. I hope his condition, like mine after my heart
attack, is fixable and repairable, though for the rest of his life
he will think of his heart not so much as a friend but as an enemy
inside his chest waiting to zing him again.
