Yes, Line, I feel exactly as you do. This is probably the third post I
have ever made on this list. I read and have learned some, but I won't
participate for the same reasons you feel uncomfortable. Inadequate,
not educated enough? Or maybe I don't want to risk getting to an
arguement with someone. I am a member of this list because I enjoy
playing the clarinet, not to see who has the largest vocabulary or who
can get the last word. If I want to get involved in a heated
discussion, I can do that at any given time with my teenage son.
Speaking of my son, he is homeschooled. The first question you get from
everyone is "What about socialization?" I am sure everyone that posts
on this list has been to school, worked with others, or played music
with a group. From the example here, I haven't seen where my son is
missing anything. Some of you still don't understand that when there is
a large group there are many different kinds of people with different
ideas. You don't argue about the differences, you learned from them. As
my old great-grandfather-in-law from the deep south would say "Opinions
are like A--holes........... everybody has one." Why can't we leave it
at that and discss and enjoy the one thing we all obviously have in
common. The clarinet.
