In searching for an edition of the Schbert Octet, I've only found a Peters
edition. I've seen colleagues that had another edition, one that had an
edited clarinet part which more closely ressembles the violin part as far as
consistency of octaves and imitative passages in the first and last movements.
Does this part exist? Is it a new Peters edition. Is there an urtext edition
available for the octet and are the reworked passages for the clarinet
Schubert's doing, or merely those of clarinetists who have performed the
workover the years?
