One of the difficulties of an Urtext edition is precisely the lack of
uniformity you describe. What does the critical commentary say?
It's possible that you have to resolve these difficulties yourself. But
at least it would be *your* resolution, and fit in with your other
ideas.

Articulation markings (cf. Mozart) sometimes work very well, differing
from part to part. *Sometimes*, that's the point.

This is common, I'd say, from Beethoven and others, between different
versions of a work.
