There is more to this than lifting a few bottles of wine. I would suggest =

Naturally it is difficult to disagree with you here in
general principle, but I suspect that if Girko didn't
have enemies within the orchestra, a more lenient re-
sponse might have been likely. It's not like he em-
bezzled endowment funds. He stole some wine, which he
then returned and paid for, doubtless with an apology. =20
Worthy of punishment, yes, but termination? Maybe it
will be reduced to suspension and a reprimand on his
record. No love is lost between Steve and I, but on a=20
purely objective basis, the punishment does not appear=20
to fit the crime.
