I've used a neck strap for years and wouldn't be without one. I started when
I had severe bursitis in right shoulder. A regular lightweight sax strap works
fine. Some ingenuity might be required to attach the hook to the thumb rest ..
a heavy duty paper clip around my adjustable thumb rest works fine. I feel
more secure without any elastic connected to it. The advantage is stability
and less stress on the thumb.Frankly I can think of no disadvantage other than
having my macho image damaged.
Hope this helps. Bob in Reno, Nv.
