Subj: [kl] Orly case, is mine defective?
Date: Thu, 3 Dec 1998 16:56:48 -0500

Hi everyone,

A while ago, I posted some questions about the Orly double case.
Well, I've just got my Orly case, and I am somehow, not very happy with
it. First of all, my clarinet doesn't somehow fit into the socket on the
case. I mean it fit, but it still moves. Since the clarinet joints lie
vertically on the case, the were some room on the socket on the case that
allows the clarinet to move quite significantly (vertically, up and down),
about 1/2 inches.

The upper joint of the clarinet lies vertically with the octave
key nearest to the body when the case it opened. Everytime I open up the
case, the upper joint seem to have 'rotated' slightly to the left. I
thought the one of the purpose of a case it to keep the instrument still
while being transported. BTW, this seems to happen on the lower joint of
the A clarinet as well but not the upper joint.

My question is, is the case I got defective or is it the same on all of
them? I would appreciate any feedback from any Orly case owners.

Thank you so much. I would appreciate a prompt feedback, in case it is
defective, I can return it on time.

Soo
