Yes I did have some modifications done to my Eb. The LH. Eb/Bb key is
off (along with the posts) and the hole is corked. There is some cork on
the throat Ab key so that the 1st finger doesn't go out of position to hit
the key. My RH. chromatic B/F# key is thinned, cut in half, and has a small
button soldered on so that I can hit the key and not lower the rings (for
altisimo venting). I do have big hands but can play a normal Eb fine. With
these modification I don't have any risk in accidentally brushing an
unwanted key.

My only modification, to date, is to "futz" with the double action octave/Bb
mechanism to make it work correctly. (Yes, you're right, it's a Buffet.) I
also disconnected/disabled the articulated G# mechanism, but now I have it
working again.
