I think Graeme must have made an odd typo.
No typing mistake. The library catalogue entry is...
http://library.ccc.govt.nz/htbin/dbsearch?db=MARION&format=FULL&kwd=LN+'ACH-
8571
so you can surf there and check!
As we live as far from the book publisher as it is possible to be, transport
costs and a chain of wholesalers and a small local market and our goods and
services tax all conspire to keep the price of some imported goods reaonably
high. However, competition from Amazon.com and the like is having a great
effect in keeping book prices down.
However -- the $NZ is currently worth about US 50 cents so the once you add
12.5% GST the price is about the same.
The compensation, of course, is that New Zealand is a GREAT place to live!
How about coming to visit some day soon. (BTW, we make the worlds best lager
(Steinlager) and much better white wine than the French! I could go on and
on, but I must go to the library and borrow the book.)
Cheers,
Graeme Cox
