Sue and Roger answered this rather completely, and certainly as well if
not better than I could have. I'll only add my voice to say that, yes,
the first year you will be too exhausted to practice very much, but keep
on plugging away. I had a brief "detour" into public school instrumental
music teaching. It was an experience I wouldn't ever trade away, even
though I wasn't expecting to do it after college. Follow the
opportunities as they appear, and best of luck.
