It is a shame that at times we have people on the list who cannot agree to
disagree, or more appropriately, cannot be open minded enough to listen to
other viewpoints. Some on the list are more interested in beating their
opinions into others or proving superiority than learning from intelligent
discussion. It has been disappointing to see that Jonathan and others have left
the list because of the lack of courtesy displayed by some participants. It is
our loss, and I for one miss Jonathan's input and the intelligent exchange of
ideas.

I am reminded of a former teacher who once told me that studying with someone
is like being a burglar: you take what you want and leave behind what you don't
want. The same idea might be used here.

It must be tough for some to be right ALL of the time. -They have to tolerate
the rest of us! ; )

p.s. To anyone who has not seen it- read Tony Pay's chapter in the Cambridge
Companion to the Clarinet (Colin Lawson). I bought the book last week. The
chapter is very illuminating. Excellent!
