The doctors to find that could eventually know are the doctors =
specialized=20
in deep diving. At depths above abt 50 meters a mixture of helium and =
oxy-
gen is used (called heliox). This is routine diving since the beginning =
of the 70's.
This is a standard procedure for instance when they dive for the oil =
drilling
platforms at the North Sea. I will try to find out with my old contacts. =
I took
part in the research program when this was not standard procedures =
during=20
1966 and up to 1971. Certainly my own voice was changed to some kind of
high pitched Donald Duck voice, when I was sat under high pressure and
heliox in a diving chamber, but I do not remember wether this was due to
the high pressure or the mixture of gasses
