Hello everyone.
I have been playing woodwinds for over 35 years. In my training in college, I
went through periods where I cut and sanded reeds, but I have never been one
to mechanically inclined in this department. I eventually gave it up and
spent a fortune on boxes of reeds choosing to play the good ones into the
ground and keeping the weak ones in storage drawers. Now, I find myself
really wanting to become proficient in all areas of performance and teaching
and I would like some pointers on clipping, sanding and reed rush, etc.
I have been very successful as a performer but I feel really lacking in this
"art".
Sincerely,
Hubert Knight
Nashville

Hubert, why don't you have a few lessons with Lee Levine, the Principal
Clarinetist with Nashville. She probably could help you. Also the
connections never hurt either. (I would think that you already know her,
but if not....)
