I guess I'd have to say Stoltzman for his sheer ability to do whatever he dang
well pleases. While I find some of his work completely tasteless, the rock
solid foundation this man has as a result of years of dedicated work leaves
him free to express himself as musically (or unmusically) as he feels like. I
find that kind of freedom intoxicating. On his recordings that I consider
tasteful (and this is all just my personal taste - I'm not calling Dick
tasteless!), his sound and technique are a joy.
