I recommend that you contact the colleges in Abilene --
there are several. I'm sure you'll find that at least one
has a woodwind instructor in the School of Music who would
be willing to take a private student, especially one as
committed as you seem to be. Even if you don't find a
clarinetist, per se, don't be discouraged. My best teacher
was professor of oboe, but he taught me more about
intonation, reed-working, and fingering than any other.

Another thought: contact the business office(s) of local
symphony orchestras -- San Angelo Symphony, Abilene
Philharmonic, Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale. Unless
they're all pulling from D/FW, there may be a principal
residing nearby. Good luck!
