With the same instrument and a Vandoran 5RV mouthpiece, I have been
easonably satisfied with Vandoran 3.5 reeds, although I have to trim the end
a bit to take the "buzz" out of them. I also use V12's 3.5 strength with a
Hyte M43 on the Bb instrument, -->BUT<--, as many others have commented,
reed choice is highly mouthpiece-dependent. In addition, in my hands a
purchased reed is starting material for the reed rush and the clipper -
almost all of them need some work.

I have had mine for about a year now, and had a ball with it. Still have
many unanswered questions, such as "Did these instruments come with undercut
tone holes, or has someone been in there with a file?" Mine is very touchy
about minute leaks, and its hard to find the leaks on a one-piece
instrument, since both your hands are busy closing the holes.

WHAT do you sound like on the Bb? Or is your husband a crumhorn fan?
