OK group! Here's another one!

I am doing an experiment with Bass clarinet reeds.

I ordered a box of VanDoren Bcl reeds 3 1/2
a box of Hemke Tenor Sax reeds 3 1/2
a box of Zonda Tenor Sax reeds 3 1/2

I have been slowly breaking them in over the last week and recording my
impressions as I play each reed. Of course, my impressions will be HIGHLY
SUBJECTIVE. Different people with different horns, emouchures, and mouthpieces
WILL get different results.

Each batch of 5 has two or three really GOOD reeds.

The Hemkes are cut "French File Cut" and are similar to Vandorens

The Zondas are "flat-cut" (my term), less core stiffer tip.

At this point, as a group, I prefer the Hemkes over the VanDorens, and the
Zondas least. The Hemkes feel great and play great, with less variation than
the VanDorens. The Zondas have lots of guts, I'll have to work the tips down
to get subtlety.

I'll keep ya all posted, if you're interested!
