I use resonant fingerings as often as I can on both the soprano and bass clarinet.
It not only brings the note into tune, but it it increases the blowing resistance
of the throat tones. The tone without the resonant fingerings - well I am assuming
we are in polite company. My tutor says use fingerings that work and give the tone
and tuning you are looking for. Just because some one says this is the fingering
ain't necessarily so. Just refer to Tom Ridenour's book and see how many
fingerings there are.
