I'm with Bill on this one. In more than three decades of active performing
on several instruments, I've never encountered 15ma in a score. True, two
octaves is 15 scale steps, but I'd scratch my head at it too--and I know a
little Italian.

What we have here, I think, is a cultural difference. The French say "eight
days" for a week and "fifteen days" for two weeks. English speaking people
don't.
