I can only guess how fast this passage goes by but I suspect that it's fast
enough that somewhat less than perfect intonation and tone quality (clarity)
will not be noticed on an interior note. If my slow fingers could get around
it in time, I would probably slide the F-E like most everyone else. (Though
my first thought since I suspect Abe is looking for something "outside the
box," as Kevin Bowman put it, was to see if it would be possible to get to A
clarinet to play this -- Dan forgive me for I have sinned, it has been five
hours since my last lesson.) However, if it goes by too fast for the slide or
the A clarinet, how about:

Db - normal fingering
F - right pinky key
E - add left pinky key
Db - lift the LEFT ring finger while keedping down the right hand
fingers for low E
C - normal but keep the left hand E pinky key down
E - left pinky key
Ab - normal fingering

C#/G# E/B E/B E/B E/B

o x x x o x x

F/C F/C F/C G#/Eb

Takes a little getting used to because of the unorthodox Db and the second Db
is a bit muted on my clarinet (but fairly well in tune -- ok, a little sharp).
