Then I went home to try some of these things and (what do ya know?),
the only one that works OK for C/Eb tremelo is the bis idea. The other
fingerings work to some extent in the clarion register for G/Bb but
are absolute duds for the C/Eb tremelo. So ... please disregard the
suggestions I gave about the first trill key and the second LH finger.
Sorry for giving bad advise without checking it out first. BTW - the
first trill key trick DOES work on sax - in both registers.
The bis idea does work, though. I have somewhat large hands and I was
able to slide my LH first finger down enough to both cover the 1st
hole AND hold down the second finger pad. Then just tremelo with
fingers 2 and 3, as you would on sax. No special key required (unless
you can't do this reach). As Roger stated, the Eb fingered this way is
a bit sharp but not so horribly sharp that it isn't useful in a
tremelo.

Using the first finger to press the key down below the E key works really
well for Daphnis 1st section on Eb Clarinet (really easy to move the finger
on Eb Clarinet) when you have to go from top space G to Bb very quickly
back and forth.
