Jon Manasse played this year at the Newport (RI) Music Festival. He is a
wonderful clarinetist with an EXCEPTIONAL tone--full bodied, round, and
luscious. From what you can tell about a musician watching him interact in an
ensemble, I would say he seems self-confident but NOT full of himself. I would
have liked to meet him personally but the occasion did not permit.

Jon holds the ICA record as the Youngest Young Artist Clarinet Competition
Winner - he won 1st prize at age 14!!!!!!!!!! He is a great player. He
recorded several CD's with Itzhak Perlman's pianist Samuel Sanders.
He is also a nice guy.
