If your horn is a brand new one and it wants to crack---- it will, period.
Crack it quickly and within its warrantee. Get it over with. If it's an
older horn and it hasn't cracked your worries are over.

I'm speaking as a Canadian who's horns have also survived African dry
seasons and rainy seasons.
