I bought a 32 pages booklet "Clarinet MasterClasses"from Wind Player
Magazine. In this booklet a repair professional, an immigrant from USSR,
advised to change octave key from cylindrical one to conical one to improve
throat tone.I interpreted the 'key' seem to mean the cylinder beneath the
left hand thumb key which peretrates the bore. I never heard of this method
and Japanese repair people do not seem to know it either.I wondered this is
a special method of his own.Is this a usual method in U.S.?
Sorry, I am a new comer to this page and made many questions I have kept.
