Sorry folks....I have a trigger "send" button.

Anyway, double lip does not tear up both your lips, or either lip. It is a
perfectly useful practise. I do use it often, especially on bass clarinet, to
modify ... to "open" the tone, in soft passages. (If your teeth are sharp, and
irritate your lips, have your dentist round them, or use a lip cushion)

Double lip is also a great embrochure builder. If you're a biter, you'll know
it fast.

The biggest difficulty with double lip is playing while standing. There's no
convenient knee to balance the clarinet on.

My teacher was John Mohler, who studied with Ralph McLane. Mohler often played
double lip. But he sounded terrific either way! Am I right about this
Brad?????
