$200 a fair price?
I think it depends on the mouthpiece. While I love my open, free-blowing 715
which I still own, I finally replaced it with Clark Fobes' pro model because
the throat tones were impossibly flat. I also recently traded my Kanter AA0
(which was just too closed for my taste) for about $200 toward a complete
overhaul by a pro in Los Angeles who wanted it for a back-up for his AAO.
<<What was the original price that Kanter charged.>>
On September 19, 1989 I paid $90.00 plus $5.85 tax (California) for my Kanter
715 which I bought directly from Jim. I paid a bit less for my AAO which I
purchased from another LA clarinetist.
