Equal temperament generally refers to the size of half tones, which come 12
to the octave. Since the frequency is doubled in the octave, each higher
half tone increases the frequency by the 12th root of 2, or 1.0594631 . . .

Each whole tone increases by 1.0594631 squared or 1.122462.

Since B is two half tones above A, if A @-----.0594631 x
1.0594631 @-----.
