I have been looking for an authoritative reference that discusses these
differences. (I always had the impression that H.P. clarinets made at A =
around 446 but I don't remember where I got that idea. Now it appears that I
may have been off by quite a bit.) If you would post your source, I would be
most grateful. I would love to read up on some of this history.
