The horn sold for $700 or so, and it was a wonderful, WOODEN bass
clarinet. It had silver keys - and the cleanup on that horn was a real
job, let me tell you - as was the repad and, of course, the mouthpiece
reface.

The horn played very much like the older, short Buffets.

Both the buyer and the seller (me!) were very pleased with the horn. My
new Buffet is good enough I no longer felt the need to keep a spare
"short" bass around, and the buyer had been playing on an old (but good)
Leblanc - she likes this much better.
