Seriously, things to look for: good padding to protect against scratching
instruments (I added some to mine myself, including a layer of felt on the
wooden clarinet peg); foldability for transporting (mine can be
disassembled, but it is too big a pain to do); adjustability of the sax
part for alto or tenor (mine is real good here -- it is a double sax stand,
usually set for an alto and a tenor, but quick and easy to reset so a
second alto player next to me can borrow the other sax space if I am not
using it for the tenor); ability to add a flute or soprano sax peg (real
handy for pit work).
