I had this problem when I was a sophomore in college. I went to doctors
about it and basically found out exactly what Dr. Karius has already
posted.

Mine was most likely associated with the changes I was making in reed
strength and equipment and/or the tremendous number of hours I was
playing in a day.

Often times in music school, we think we really need that extra hour of
practice and lean toward quantity vs. quality. But from my experience,
the key to fixing this is to stop playing immediately when it gives out.

To continue playing after it begins leaking will only enforce bad habits
by teaching you to use too much muscular force to close off that air
outlet - most likely resulting in a very tight throat.

Rest assured, it will go away with careful practice and rest.
