The point of doing it is to increase your enjoyment of life. So it must be
worth it! I have had a similar experience as you and playing again has been
a lot of fun, especially if it helps you make new friends. Can you find a
band to join to keep you motivated?

Playing can slightly increase blood presure while you are blowing, but I
believe that the fun of doing it will result in lower blood pressure on
average over your whole day.
