Dear All:

I am new to the list and have been reading messages for about one month now. I
learned a lot about clarinet by just reading the post. I had stroke a little
more than 2 years ago when I was 44. As a stroke survivor at a relatively
young age, I had a tough time to cope with it. Several monthes ago, I started
to play clarinet again after about 25 years. This give me a lot of enjoyment,
I just forgot all the depression I suffered when I was playing. BTW I
recovered most motor function but I had vision cut ( a blind spot of my left
field of vision).
After stroke, I developed a mild hypertention. My questions are:
1. Did anyone know about playing clarinet will cause high blood pressure ?
2. I had a wood clarinet I bought when I was in college, It was a Japanese
horn, Nikkan Imperiale, I think Nikkan means Japan Winds. Does anyone know
this horn, is it any good ? Is it worth the money to fix it up ?
3. At this relatively old age to play again, is it worth to take lessons ?

Thanks.
