Subj: [kl] Bass Clarinet Extended Technique...

I am currently playing a piece for solo bass clarinet right now and there
are a couple of things written into the part that I am having a heck of a
time figuring out.

1. How do you get a good slap tongue sound on a bass. I just can't get too
wild with this.... I am looking for the bass clarinet equivalent to a
Bartok Pizzicato.

2. I need fingerings for a couple of extreme high notes. The piece goes up
to a high D# (the one that is 6 lines above the staff.) I can get up to
about a G or A comfortably or perhaps a C with a bit of work, but I need to
get another minor third higher.

Does anybody out there in Klarinet land have any hints that can help me with
either?

Thanks.
