This shouldn't make you groan that much at all.
Difficulty in switching rises proportionately
to the degree of similarity between setups,
i.e.; between Eb and Bb. When the switch is
dramatic, like between Eb and contra, there is
such a large difference that the embouchure is
not taxed by the need to make small adjustments.
Between Eb and soprano Bb however, the difference
between setups is small enough that the embouchure
must make much more subtle adjustments between
the two mouthpieces, causing greater fatigue.
