I am rather obsessive about this: I swab the entire instrument and then
each individual piece and then I plug the bottom end of the upper joint
with my pinky and blow through the barrel end, opening each key to blow
water from the tone holes. After this, I generally swab the upper joint
again to soak up any water that is still there.
