Subj: [kl] New Barrel for Selmer 10G ?
Date: Thu, 5 Nov 1998 20:01:43 -0500

My Selmer 10G is pretty much uniformly flat now that I've changed (and
become pretty used to) a new mouthpiece. The Selmer 10G I own came with
a 66mm barrel as standard - I need to go to a 65mm.

Unfortunately for me, most aftermarket barrels are currently designed to
match the Buffet bores. I'm not especially fond of the Selmer barrel I
have now (the Selmer is a bit "bright" for current tastes - but since I
inherited it from my son I'll be living with it for quite a while).

Does anyone know of any barrels specifically made for the Selmer, or do
I just keep hunting until I find one that suits my horn & my taste? The
few barrels I've tried (a Pyne, a Buffet Chadash, a Buffet Standard, and
an E D Accubore) changed the blowing resistance radically - I'd like a
bit more resistance, but not _that_ much. It appears as if I have an
impedance mismatch with those barrels ...
