The Galper register tube sounds like a wonderful, effective, ingenious =
and SIMPLE invention. But, anybody who thinks it could simply be put on =
any instrument other than a Buffet R-13 Bb is dreaming. Even a Buffet =
R-13 A clarinet couldn't accept it. The key would be too short. The =
mounting posts would be in the wrong place. And, perhaps, the tube, =
itself, would be slightly inappropriate. To put it on another MAKE of =
instrument would be physically impossible. Everything would have to be =
redesigned. However, I doubt if it would be particularly difficult task =
if one thoroughly understood Abe's design principles.

Abe, I hope your'e reading this. Could you share your theoretical =
principles, and demensions with us? There are lots of non R-13's out =
there that could benefit from your invention.

As a machinist, I'm perfectly situated to modify my own instruments. =
My old Selmer Series 9's have a very good Bb and excellent break hopping =
characteristics. But, who knows, there is always room for improvement!=20
