Even with the additional copper plating layer underneath, I doubt that the
difference in weight between nickel plating and silver plating could be
measured without a delicate scientific balance scale. Remember, you are
talking about very thin layers of metal here, probably 1000ths of an ounce
total difference. If your clarinet is particularly heavy, it is much more
likely to be because of very dense wood.
