If you want to get incredibly technical, the nickel plating is probably
heavier because (a) it's thicker, so there is more metal, and (b) Buffet
copper plates the keys before they nickel plate them--2 layers. The copper
plating is necessary to make the nickel bind better. I don't know if they
copper plate before silver plating, but I suspect they don't.

the difference is weight is virtually not detectible. we are talking about
only a few microns thickness in the plating. the underlying metal is the
same on either nickel or silver.

My silver plated keys make my clarinet so heavy that I am
developing tendonitis. So be careful if you get silver plated keys.
