Part of this, I think, is that I play a lot of Eb--it's my usual instrument
in the wind ensemble I play in, so that's at least on 3-hour rehearsal a
week for the last several years. (Sometimes I practice, too!) OTOH, I play
just as much on the bigger horns, but am always fiddling. >>

I play much less Eb than Bb and A, but I have found the same thing to be true
with the reeds. (I use almost all the Eb reeds in the box.) I accept this as
a nice quirk and try not to question it too much... :)
