Yes, it is a march.....Norwegian. The original version had a clarinet
solo for the melody....the Glenn Bainum version has a cornet solo at the
beginning (most often played)......and the euphonium solo imitating the
cornet solo is accompanied by a countermelody in the clarinets that is so
wonderful, you simply have to hear it! An absolutely delightful
work...almost so terrific you can't call it a march (although it is).
