Yes, this is a Norwegian march. There are currently at least 2 versions of
the piece: the original European version, and an American transcription. In
the original version, the piece starts with a clarinet solo (the solo
clarinet is replaced by a solo trumpet in the American version). The march
is semi difficult, especially for young clarinet players. At least for the
first couple of run-throughs, the middle segment of the march is challenging
enough to trouble even the more advanced players. Overall, though, the piece
is wonderful. It has a lighter, more relaxed ambiance than many marches that
we are familiar with.
