The Vandorens undergo a stronger physical change - All of Rico's reeds,
including the GCs, are made from domestic American cane. Zondas are
Argentinian, and are relatively close. Vandorens, however, are grown in
France, aged in France, then stuck in a cargo plane/ship and transported
over a big wet spot to the US. The distance and climactic changes between
those distances tend to affect the reed.
