I can't lay my hands on it at the moment, but a long time ago Selmer
published a pamphlet by Mazzeo about scale practice. It included 1.)
Hamelin "Gammes et Exercises" (my personal favorite) 2.) Gillet books
mentioned by Jim Sclater, 3.) Eugene Gay Method, 4.) Nicholas Slonimsky
"Thesaurus of Scales", and probably included Baermann 3 as well. It
included a whole scenario for the practice of each of these books - as
usual, well though out and very thorough. It *may* be in the "Excellence
and Artistry" book of Mazzeo's, but as I said, I can't seem to lay my
hands on it right now. If anyone is interested, I'll look further. Or, if
someone can find *their* Mazzeo book...
