As some of you know, most of my .MUS files are lacking in articulation
and dynamics markings. That was supposed to be only temporary, but
although I have good intentions someday of filling them all in, I've found
myself terribly driven by the magnificence of the clarinet literature I
never knew existed. When I finish one piece another one seems to appear
and so far the only ones I've gotten back to finish are the Mozart Serenades.
(The Gopfert concerto, from another source, is also complete.)

In any case, sometimes I actually get together with live performers and
I give them copies of my own public domain versions which
can be copied without limit.

But my live players soon say, "Hey, where are all the dynamics and
articulation markings, huh?!" So I asked Wolfy about that one day.
(Billy Graham says that he talks with God every morning, but I haven't quite
gotten up there yet. Mozart is the best I've been able to do so far.) He
replied quite emphatically, "For Pete's sake Ollie (he calls me Ollie) (and
speaks English to boot), what has happened to 20th century musicians?
Have you all forgotten how to improvise? Why, when I was a lad
I improvised six pieces before breakfast every morning."

So I just want all you folks to have it from the horse's mouth. And
you know I wouldn't lie. 8-)

Oliver
